Channel 1 Releasing co-founder Chi Chi LaRue’s recent videos-for-bars offshoot, Club Channel 1, has teamed up with popular Internet “cruise site” for gay men M4M-USA.com (formerly M4M4Sex.com) to launch a revamped West Coast version of the site.
“We’re very excited to be working with Channel 1 on this project,” M4M’s Promotions Director Chris Amberg told AVN. “We wanted somebody on the West Coast to help us with P.R., and Channel 1 has a very broad reach within the gay community. We know nothing but good things about [the company].”
Since its inception a few years ago, M4M has quickly become a popular site for Internet cruising. It was subsequently dubbed “the best online meat market” by popular independent news site Salon.com and today claims more than 300,000 members worldwide. The new version, dubbed M4M 5.0, boasts a new look with smoother interfaces, voice profiles, free conference calling, additional storage space for member photos, and a “sexual shopping cart.”
For their part, the folks at Channel 1 are looking forward to reaching a much broader audience. “The great part is that we get to send M4M promos to the bars in the Club Channel 1 network that play our video, and that will especially be cool in parts of the country who never get to take part in promotions like this,” says Channel 1’s Rob Reimer, head of promotions. “I love that we can expose the average guy in say West Virginia to some exciting new stuff.”
Club Channel 1’s line of videos features adult film models in soft-core scenes mixed with footage from gay club events around the country, and are created exclusively to be played in gay nightclubs and bars. Models appearing on the tapes are selected from Channel 1’s exclusive video line, Rascal Video.
“We are proud to team up with M4M-USA to promote version 5.0,” said Channel 1 co-founder Chi Chi LaRue in a recent press release. “M4M has always been the leader in male to male online hookups. And with [Channel 1’s 24-hour sex streaming site] Live and Raw being the leader in sex online, I think it’s a great fit.”
A live event to promote the new site was recently held at the Here Lounge in West Hollywood, with another to follow on New Year’s Eve at the Mezzanine nightclub in San Francisco. LaRue herself will host the event, with appearances by Falcon exclusives Tyler Gunn, Josh Weston, and Gus Mattox scheduled throughout the night.
