Cherry Boxxx Pictures has firmed up exclusive distribution rights to Kobe: The Shocking True Story, Vol. 1, from BT Productions. Written and directed by Todd Fligner, it contains video news footage as well as a re-enactment of the incident last year in Colorado which resulted in rape charges against Lakers basketball star Kobe Bryant.
The movie, in both soft cable and hard versions, DVD only, is scheduled to ship on March 18.
The 63-minute feature contains “a re-enactment of what might have happened,” Cherry Boxxx president Allen Gold told AVN.com.
“The director flew out to Colorado, he spoke to people, he put it on the DVD as what might have happened. He hired some porn talent [Julian St. John and Chandler Stacy] to play Kobe and the girl.”
Gold wants to make sure everyone knows that Cherry Boxxx and all their customers are indemnified against possible liability. “We have indemnification on this that releases us and our distributors of ‘any and all liabilities’ arising from release of the movie,” he said. These, according to the Cherry Boxxx agreement, are assumed by BT Productions.
