Last week Cherry Boxxx Pictures acquired Erotic Angel, the studio that released Snakeskin, an AVN Award nominee for Best Film, from their mutual corporate parent K-Beech Video, consolidating both studios' catalogs under one roof.
“We thought that by bringing the Erotic Angel line under the Cherry Boxxx Pictures banner we’d be able to invigorate the line, it’s doing very well anyway, but we think we can help it do even better,” Allen Gold told AVN.com, “We have complimentary catalogs – we make high-end gonzo and wall-to-wall videos and they made a lot of features, so we’ve expanded the type of video we can offer.”
Erotic Angel had 175 titles in their catalog, approximately 75 of which were never released on DVD. Cherry Boxxx Pictures will convert and release five of those titles to DVD every other month – and the DVDs will be offered at catalog prices.
“Converting catalog titles to DVD for the first time should reinvigorate the entire line,” Gold said. “It’s something the draws attention to all of your lines.”
Cherry Boxxx Pictures will begin releasing Erotic Angel titles in April.
Besides Snakeskin, other notable titles in the Erotic Angel catalog include the Doomsday Kiss, the Eighteen and Lost series, and the Shay Sweet line of videos released during her time as a contract performer for Erotic Angel.
For the time being Erotic Angel will no longer be releasing new titles.
