Channel 1 Ventures Into Mobile Market with Launch of Live and Raw On the Go

Though American pornographers have yet to catch up with the proliferation of mobile phone porn offered in the European market, Chi Chi LaRue’s Channel 1 release is certainly making bold new strides in that direction. Today the company, which launched its popular live content streaming site LiveandRaw.com in 2003, says that it will be offering LiveandRaw content free of charge on mobile phones to existing LiveandRaw.com and ChiChiLaRue.com members as part of its latest advance in technology, Live and Raw On the Go.

“We’ve been trying to put some plans together for more benefits for our members so they have more goodies, and after we got started doing our own DRM, we realized we could probably make it work with live stuff on cell phones too,” says ChiChiClicks.com manager Rob Novinger. “This is something we’ve been perfecting for a while now.”

Content from the LiveandRaw.com site will be available for viewing via portable Windows Mobile devices such as smart phones and PDAs that have Windows Media Player installed on them. The content can be accessed during its scheduled live streaming or from archives on the LiveandRaw site. All content will be streamed with sound.

According to LaRue, Live and Raw On the Go is “a natural progression” in the advancement of mobile technology. “It’s so apparent, with all these Sidekicks [and other portable text messaging devices], that they’re just coming up with so many ways to communicate while on the go,” LaRue offers. “Right now you can get music videos on your phone, you can get video games, you can check your email, you can pretty much do anything. Everyone is so connected to their mobile phones, this is just a way for us to stay connected to them.”

Both Novinger and LaRue say that Live and Raw On the Go shows Channel 1’s continued efforts to spearhead porn’s technological advances. “We like to stay ahead with the live thing and do something different; that’s our thing,” Novinger says. “Who knows how many people will actually sit and watch a show start to finish on their cell phones, but it’s just a fun, cool thing people can do, and it doesn’t cost them anything. For us, it’s just keeping up with technology, providing the best thing we can for our members, and offering something interesting.”

“Channel 1 was a pioneer with LiveandRaw.com, and we are again with Live and Raw On the Go,” LaRue adds. “It was time for us to drum up something new and exciting, and this is it.”

Live and Raw On the Go will launch on August 5 with a performance by Rascal exclusive Luca DiCorso and Rod Barry, followed by a solo performance by Rascal exclusive Eddie Stone.
