Channel 1 Teams with Topco For New Line of Toys

Popular gay adult director/personality Chi Chi LaRue and Channel 1 Releasing have entered into a licensing deal with adult-toy company Topco Sales to launch three new lines of adult-novelty toys and accessories.

The first to hit the marketplace will be the Rascal Video line which will build upon the brand's exclusive talent and video themes. Its fall 2004 launch will coincide with the release of LaRue's Bolt video series. Live and Raw toys, reflecting Channel 1's 24/7 live internet content, and Chi Chi's Play Things, a novelty line created around LaRue's persona as a performer, will be unveiled in January at AVN's 2005 Adult Entertainment Expo in Las Vegas.

"I'm so excited about the deal," LaRue told AVN.com. "What's great about Topco is that they're really open to different ideas. I want to do stuff that's not out there, that you don't see every day. Topco was very willing to try new things and listen to what we had to say and jumped right on board with our ideas. It's going to be a good thing."

LaRue added that he hopes his name will prove to be an asset to the deal. "My notoriety in the industry will, hopefully, help to push sales at the counter," he said.

It was a thought echoed by Topco's Director of Business Development, Ted LeVine, who, in a statement, said, "Chi Chi LaRue has proliferated the gay video and internet marketplaces. We feel confident the addition of toys and our Topco Sales distribution can extend the brand even further."
