HotMovies.com, a pay-per-minute porn provider, has entered into an exclusive Internet deal to distribute two of adult cinema icon Cecil Howard’s rare Command Cinema Classics titles Babylon Pink (1979) and Neon Nights (1981).
The films, available for Internet download or streaming exclusively at HotMovies, were re-released by VCX earlier this year on DVD after more than 15 years on the shelf. They feature classic starlets such as Samantha Fox, Vanessa Del Rio, and Arcadia Lake. Neon Nights was just inducted into the XRCO Hall of Fame.
“Fans have been writing in asking for these movies since the DVDs launched,” says HotMovies Director of Business Development James Seibert. “It’s a great deal for both companies. Mr. Howard, one of the true greats of the 35 mm days, gets the online exposure that only HotMovies can deliver, and we get some of the finest adult films ever put on celluloid.”
HotMovies.com is the only place on the Internet to have a distribution agreement for the wildly popular Taboo line distributed by Addictive Entertainment. With the recent addition of more than 100 archival films from the Historic Erotica series distributed by Global Media International and consistent updates from VCX, HotMovies.com continues to build its library of classics.
Command Cinema’s well-plotted, expensively produced titles have been revered since they appeared, and for almost as long they’ve been difficult to find. Howard was ever a film guy and stopped distributing VHS tapes early on. After a hiatus, he began looking for the best thing to do with his sought-after movies, eventually brokering the deal with HotMovies.
The films are noteworthy for offering a female perspective—providing fantasy sequences that arouse far more than the average gonzo scene. The ladies take part in spicy fantasy adventures with hot, well-paced action and a sometimes tongue-in-cheek tone. The movies are, as reviewers have pointed out, what most porn should aspire to be.
As the demand is high for the two re-released titles, Howard says he is considering releasing more of the Command catalogue in the future.
