LOS ANGELES—Six-year veteran Lilly Bell was a house dancer and cam performer in Portland, Oregon, and was considering moving into commercial scenes when, "People will judge me for saying this, but I watched that 'Hot Girls Wanted: Turned On' documentary.”
“Not the original one, the second one,” Bell says. “They showed it in a way that twisted things, but I still wanted to continue. I was also camming, and Vanessa Veracruz was in that documentary and she was camming.
“I did dancing in Portland, and I wanted to feature. I met Laney Grey and we did a content shoot in Vegas. We talked about eventually starting in the industry, and then a year later we both got out of our relationships, we both signed with an agent, and the rest is history."
After a time as a g/g and solo performer, she took the plunge into b/g in 2019. "I was flying into L.A., and camming and dancing in Portland. Every day when I walked up the stairs in the club, there was a picture of Kimmy Granger, a promo poster for her appearance there. Every day I would see that photo, and I would say, 'I'll be on one of those posters one day, and that'll be me in some club.' That has happened."
She commemorates her personal history with her tattoos. A fine-line accordion on her arm honors her grandfather.
“He was in Buchenwald, in Germany. They were liberated on April 11, 1945. He survived because he could play the accordion. He would play at night, for the Nazis, and he had really good penmanship so he would write letters. I got it done in Berlin,” Bell says.
A fir tree on her left arm is the state tree for Oregon, and a palm tree on her right arm represents Los Angeles.
"It's gothically poetic, because apparently all palm trees die at the same time, about 100 years... but we won’t see it, because they'll just replace them,” Lilly says. There's an image on her back of a wineglass with a woman's hand wrapped around the stem: "I got this for my grandmother. She holds wine with a fist. That's how I hold it, too. She had some issues with her hands, so that's how she did it."
The 29-year-old Spiegler Girl adds, ”The one on my butt, the heart, that's a classic. I feel like that's my brand."
Her appreciation of history extends to the adult industry as well.
"I have a fan who says I remind him of Ginger Lynn,” Lilly explains. “I don't see it, I think it's because we're both blonde. I met Ginger and Christy [Canyon] at a show. Those people walked so we could run, and it's important that girls know them. And a lot of people don't. It's Golden Age. It's a big deal."
Asked about her best scenes, Bell recommends "my first anal scene for Brazzers, my gangbang for Blacked. Anything under the Vixen umbrella I'm incredibly proud of.”
“I really put my all into those scenes,” Lilly says. “I also love all my feature sex scenes, because I bring an aspect of gonzo to them. I have a lot of fun in my feature sex scenes. I like to just fuck. It's funny, because Blake Blossom says one of her pet peeves is someone who loses character when they're starting to have sex. Sometimes I do that. It's important to the storyline to keep some things, but we're here to have sex, to have fun, to explore each other. And that will reflect when people see it."
She says she is looking forward to "fun projects, challenging myself, and meeting my goals."
Bell will star in a new Dorcel production directed by Casey Calvert this summer, and "a horror-ish thing" for Adult Time.
”I'm really excited about that,” she says. “I've always wanted to work with Penny Barber, and she's in it. It's going to be a challenge, acting-wise, which I'm excited for."
