Veteran writer/director Cash Markman has signed to write and direct two titles for Wicked Pictures.
Markman, who was named to the AVN Hall of Fame this year, will write and direct the comedy Love is Blue, starring Randy Spears, who plays himself as a porn star trying to find true love. It also features Rita Faltoyano, Shy Love and Katie Morgan.
“It’s based on true incidents in Randy’s life. He told me a year or two ago about some of the horrendous things that have happened to him on dates and I thought it would make a great movie,” Markman said.
The title, is scheduled for release next month.
Markman’s other project is the erotic thriller Driven, starring Wicked contract star Stormy Daniels and Spears as a troubled couple. The title is tentatively scheduled for release in January.
“It’s an examination of obsessive love. I wanted to do something dark and completely different,” said Markman who is known for his comedies.
“I’ve always been fascinated by people who stalk other people. The thing about this one is that somebody gets addicted to the attention of the stalker. They start to enjoy it.”
A former television writer, Markman joined the industry in 1986, penning The Sheets of San Francisco, a take-off on the then popular TV crime drama “The Streets of San Francisco,” and has more than 500 other writing credits.
He recently has teamed with Mary Carey for a number of titles for Legend Video, including the recently-released Mary Carey for Governor, Mary Carey on the Rise, and Cash and Carey.
