Carey to Begin Campaign

Mary Carey will kick off her 2006 gubernatorial campaign at the Los Angeles County Registrar - Recorder on Tuesday, when the starlet will begin collecting signatures in order to make the election ballot.

The Legend Video exclusive will campaign heavily first to get on the ballot as an independent candidate, and will then keep campaigning up to the date of the election.

“I’m really excited to be running again, although this time is different since it is not a recall but a normal election,” Carey, who placed 10th with over 10,000 votes in 2003. “I think I will do better this time since I am 25 now and more mature than last time. I have also learned a lot more about politics since the last election.”

Carey last night made an appearance on MSNBC's "Countdown with Keith Olbermann," where she talked about her campaign, among other things.

“I want people to see that I’m not just a blonde with big boobs, but a determined politician whose passion and experience in politics has prepared me to be a suitable candidate,” Carey said. “I am fiscally conservative and socially liberal. I think people will be surprised by my campaign this time around.”

Carey's new slogan is, “Finally a politician that you want to be screwed by.”

The Los Angeles County Registrar - Recorder is located at 12400 Imperial Hwy, Norwalk, 90650. She will be there at 1 p.m.
