Red Light District president David Joseph will appear on tonight's edition of Celebrity Justice to discuss his company's reward offer of $100,000 for information about the pirating of the hot-selling 1 Night in Paris DVD.
Joseph is offering the bounty for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the party or parties responsible for piracy of the Paris Hilton sex tape. The offer has attracted the attention of the popular TV show, which focuses on celebrity-related legal matters.
Joseph offered the $100,000 bounty at the beginning of September, after becoming aware that Red Light's record-breaking release of the Paris Hilton sex video had fallen victim to widespread video piracy.
RLD officials estimated that the number of bootlegged copies of 1 Night in Paris on the street could surpass the number of official DVDs on the market.
"This is a serious problem that has primarily afflicted the mainstream motion picture industry," explained Joseph. "Now, however, this has become personal, and I plan on being proactive in apprehending the people responsible. I'm thrilled that Celebrity Justice understands the severity of this problem, and can only hope that other media outlets also pick up the story."
In the Los Angeles area, Celebrity Justice airs on KCAL 9 at 1 a.m. and 4:30 a.m. Check local listings for the time and station in your area.
Anyone with information about the replication, sale or distribution of bootlegged 1 Night in Paris copies are asked to immediately contact Joseph at (800) 288-1077 or (818) 678-6690, or by e-mail at [email protected].
