Hollywood pinup photographer Octavio “WinkyTiki” Arizala will unveil his glossy debut photo book Modern Vixens at Los Angeles’ ultra-hip Bigfoot Lodge on March 18 from 7 to 10 p.m.
Published by Goliath, the sexy images collected for Modern Vixens are based on the classic pinup but resurrected with a wicked twist. Arizala has brought the pinup back to life in this series of wild, colorful photos featuring hot girls surrounded by crazy kitsch.
Many well-known models will join Arizala at the party to meet and greet fans of this re-imagined genre as showcased on his website, WinkyTiki.com.
“This is a great opportunity to get a copy of the book, meet some of the girls, listen to great rockin’ tunes, and give your weekend a nice kick in the nuts,” said Arizala, who has photographed some of them most beautiful women in the business.
Asked why the book party is being staged in a bar, he replied: “This is where most of my inspiration comes from. I will be having more formal gallery shows in the future, but the first one is the one you want to remember with a hangover.”
He added, “Plus, I owe it to all the people who’ve supported me in the past to not stuff wine, cheese, and crackers down their throats on the first date. If you buy my book that day, I’ll even buy you a drink and hand you an Alka-Seltzer on the way out.”
