Barrett Blade, an AVN Award-winning performer and former rock star, has agreed to direct for Mayhem.
Blade will begin his Mayhem career with the all-anal series Smokin’ Crack, which he plans to begin shooting next week for release this fall.
Blade said that he had always liked Mayhem’s product anyway so he is excited about the new agreement.
“I’m starting off with Smokin’ Crack, which is an all-anal themed love fest. It will be a dirty, filthy romance with girls who love getting fucked in the ass,” Blade told AVN.com. “I’m going to pick the ones who do it because they love it, not because they’re getting a few extra dollars.”
Blade entered the industry in late 1999, performing periodically before starting to take it seriously in 2002. He has evolved into a versatile, in-demand performer who has also proven he can hold down a feature acting role. He won the AVN Awards for Best Actor-Video and Best Three-Way Sex Scene at the 22nd annual ceremony in Las Vegas in January.
His previous directorial efforts include Finders Keepers (Adult Source Media) and Planet Blade House Party 1 & 2 (Original Sin).
“I always wanted to be on the other side of camera,” he said, adding he took an editing course to learn that part of the production process. “Being an editor, I don’t have to shoot three hours of footage to get what I want.”
Blade is the former bass player for Dial 7, which played at local L.A. clubs before signing with Warner Brothers and opening for acts like Foo Fighters, Incubus, Run DMC, System of a Down and No Doubt.
