After 15 years of working at Leisure Time and Executive Video, culminating in a position as vice president of sales and marketing, Eric Gutterman has started his own company – distributing Leisure Time and Executive product. As of October 1, Barzoon Entertainment will be the exclusive distributor of Leisure Time and Executive titles.
“It’s so the people here and the owner of Leisure Time, Mark, can concentrate more on the production end and the replication of DVDs,” Gutterman told AVN.com “It also means that I have more input on the distribution sales of Leisure Time and Executive.”
Barzoon will operate out of the Van Nuys offices of Leisure Time, so all contact information remains the same. Peter Reynolds, national sales manager, and Lorraine Weinberg, both of whom worked with Gutterman at Leisure Time, have transferred to the new company where they will retain their same duties and positions that they held at Leisure Time.
Gutterman expects that Barzoon, which is only going to distribute Leisure Time and Executive products for the foreseeable future, will be able to provide an expedited and more efficient sales service than his team was capable of at Leisure Time now that there is less red tape on his end.
“I’ll have more of a say on the input of the business as it pertains to issues such as product fulfillment, turn around time getting product to distributors and pricing. I can okay a lot of things that I couldn’t before,” Gutterman said.
Barzoon is the office nickname that Gutterman has had for the last four years.
Leisure Time and Executive Video are best known for four-hour and eight-hour comps and also create original content under the Empire and Vamp brands.
