Elegant Angel Productions announced today that Axel Braun has decided to step down as general manager, a move that is effective immediately. The adult studio’s owner, Patrick Collins, will take over as general manager until the recently announced transition of handing over sales duties to Devil's Distribution takes place.
While Braun will continue to supply several movies a year to Elegant Angel, he intends to focus on his production work for Axel Braun Productions.
Braun had been working for Elegant Angel since January of this year. His decision to leave comes on the heels of the recent announcement that Elegant Angel would be distributed by the newly formed Devil's Distribution, sister company to Devil's Films.
“We’re recognizing the company’s core competencies and focusing on what we are best at,” Kennedy, newly hired publicist for Elegant Angel told AVN.com. “Patrick is insistent that we keep on doing what we do best. The changes are what he views as necessary to do.”
Collins will function as general manager of Elegant Angel until Devil's Distribution launches, possibly on December 1st, but no later than January 1st. At that time, Collins will focus primarily on directing.
Braun will continue making new installments of Squirting Adventures of Dr. G as well as take over the BlowJob Adventures of Dr. Fellatio line. The Fellatio line hasn’t been released in over a year because Collins ”couldn’t find the right director” for the award winning series. “We now have a shooter who understands… and loves, the art of fellatio,” said Collins.
Citing the current political climate in the United States regarding adult entertainment, Collins' announced that Braun's film Compulsion will not be released in the United States for the time being. It will be released only in Europe and other markets that may be considered "friendly," to Braun's vision.
Compulsion, the story of a mob boss' prodigal son, contains violence and a simulated-rape sex scene. However, people familiar with the unreleased film have repeatedly stated that the scene has sufficient motivation that was carefully established throughout the film.
Collins expects the film to do “very well” in those markets and is considering other projects for these specific markets in the future. “We’ve had calls from Italy, France and Germany today from at least two companies in each territory, so maybe we stumbled on to a good thing here.”
