Disrupt your day with a visit to ChaosMen.com, one of the Net’s hottest sites for finding yummy young studs to drool over. Originally launched seven years ago as photo journal ChaosMeninAustin.com by site founder Bryan Ockert, the site recently has been overhauled with a sleek new look and a renewed sense of style. It quickly caught on among surfers and webmasters. That’s not bad for someone with no formal training in photography whose previous job was saving bats from extinction.
“My job there was Web design, databases, server management, photo library,” Ockert says. “My own photography and videography just took off on its own.”
After starting a small membership section for ChaosMeninAustin, Ockert recruited some of his more exhibitionistic friends to pose for him. “Word spread, and I ended up with a new model every month,” he says. “It snowballed from there.” Ockert since has licensed his photos to major sites like Gay.com and clothing manufacturers like Ajaxx63.com, and has seen a lot of his work end up in gay magazines like Unzipped. Up next: a coffee table book of his photos due out later this year.
The sole visionary behind the site, Ockert says that ChaosMen has hit a nerve with those looking for something a little different. “My stuff tends to be more intimate rather than explicit,” he says. “The videos are the raw part, but the photos that go along really allow a visitor to experience the model in a more [personal] way.”
