AVNONLINE COLUMN 200607 - OUT THERE - South of the Border Debauchery: JBM Does Cabo

Sun, surf and beautiful people.

Who could ask for anything more when lying in an ocean-side cabana and sipping on a margarita in the Mexican paradise that is Cabo San Lucas?

The crew at Shaw Internet and JustBlowMe provided just that indulgence to the group of 80-ish webmasters that came out to participate in the intimate gathering held April 27-29.

Unlike typical shows, which are littered with learning-based seminars and industry updates, this show focused on business through networking and was attended by mostly industry leaders and seasoned webmasters.

Hosted by the beautiful Melia San Lucas Boutique Hotel, the event had the ideal venue. An easy 25 minutes from the airport, LightspeedCash hooked up transportation to the hotels with organized vans outfitted with beer and soft drinks.

Daily poolside and ocean-side happy hours sponsored by QuickBuck and Traffic Gigolos started off each day of the show with great drinks, awesome eats, and lots of sun.

Kicking off the parties, TopBucks welcomed show attendees with a reception at Nikki Beach. Then it was time to hit the streets of the bustling tourist town to tour the best of the best nightspots, starting with back-to-back nightly parties at the popular Squid Roe. The parties were sponsored by GGWCash and Click Me Media. The show ended with a CCBill-sponsored farewell reception followed by NationalNet’s VIP farewell at The Zoo.

Smaller groups participated in various excursions throughout Cabo, ranging from desert golfing with the folks from WebQuest, Hustler, Vivid, and Girls Gone Wild, jet skiing with Jupiter Hosting, banana boating with Adult.com and TopBucks, and deep sea fishing on the CCBill boat.

All in all, the show was definitely worthwhile, with the right mix of business, pleasure, and relaxation. Plus, you can’t beat a good tan!
