LOS ANGELES—The 2018 AVN Awards Show took place back in January, but the live event is just one part of the entertainment experience known around the world as the gold standard of industry award shows. There’s also the cable broadcast of the annual event, which is packed with extras not seen by the live audience.
To give viewers a taste of what’s to come on the cable broadcast, which debuts April 28, there’s a sneak preview making the rounds on YouTube.com. Comedians Aries Spears and Doug Benson join several adult stars in contemplating some of the more quirky toys seen at January’s AVN Show.
Co-host Harli Lotts, director Stormy Daniels and performers Allie Haze, Aspen Rae, Elsa Jean, Gina Valentina, Katie Morgan, Mick Blue and Small Hands all contemplate the goods with some degree of perplexity.
For some of the items, including a device from Lovebotz, the purpose is clear: “This is the Scarface of vibrators,” Spears interjects. “Say hello to my big friend.”
Others are more mysterious. Handling a tissue-thin item about the size of a handkerchief, Stormy Daniels looks wary: “I wanna smell it, but I’m scared to. … Nope, not a dryer sheet.”
Turns out it’s the Happy Ending Mitten. “Ah, genius!” Daniels exults. “This is for every teenage boy, I guess. So that your mother doesn’t have to pick up your jizz socks.”
