AskJolene.com, a free adult search engine that operates solely on thumbnail galleries, unveiled a new and improved relevance algorithm this week that should make their speed and delivery Google-like in reliability.
The new algorithm takes link popularity into account (i.e., the way documents are linked on the Web), and uses an unobtrusive form of content clustering to make sure the most relevant results rank high in the results list.
"This is the latest milestone in our continuing effort to make AskJolene.com the ultimate search experience on the adult Web," said CEO Toine Verheul. "Until now, our main focus has been on quantity, freshness and safety. Now that we feel we have tackled these challenges, we can go back and concentrate on the quality of our results."
"We made two improvements with respect to our previous version," Frank Scheelen in AskJolene.com search and ranking technology told AVNOnline.com. "Firstly, we incorporated a form of link popularity in our search engine. It works by analyzing the way documents are linked on the Web. Furthermore, we added a form of clustering. Documents are automatically assigned to one or more adult categories, and this information is used to determine if a document is likely to be of interest given a search query. Documents that are deemed interesting are given a higher rank in the results list."
AskJolene.com is a multimedia search engine that crawls the Web with automated software. The galleries found are stored in a full-text search engine with a broad range of search options. This allows users to quickly locate galleries that suit their tastes just by typing in what they want.
"For Webmasters," Scheelen offered, "AskJolene is a win because it allows their target group to drill down to their preview galleries very quickly."
