Seattle's new player in gay adult video, AresMen, has signed a wholesale distribution agreement with West Hollywood's Pacific Creek Associates. Pacific Creek will provide exclusive U.S. wholesale distribution of AresMen's first feature, CockTales v.1: The Intruders.
Pacific Creek president Carolynne Mote noted, "The Intruders puts a fresh twist on adult video by incorporating elements from the erotic fiction genre. The story line is both clever and sexy; it adds to the heat." The video is slated for an October wholesale release.
AresMen's president and executive producer, Nick Sparks, said the pre-release DVD has received praise from wholesale and retail representatives. "We really went out on a limb to do something different, and are so gratified with the great reception it's getting," Sparks said. "Now we're excited about continuing a whole series of videos based on erotic fiction."
AresMen started production on the release in June, and in August began presales on its newly launched AresMen website. With the signing of the wholesale distribution agreement, AresMen has begun selling retail DVD and VHS copies of the feature online at an introductory, discounted price.
The shift in the product's sales status coincides with the version 2 release of AresMen's online store, which, in addition to the video, offers a selection of adult toys and novelties. AresMen has more than doubled its previous inventory, and will continue to add new products each month. The new store has expanded its payment options to include all credit cards, and will be accepting online checks in the near future.
Sparks said the AresMen.com site, still only about a month old, is already in revisions for a version 2 release, based on feedback from a user group forum.
"We solicited user feedback to help us build a better site," said Sparks. "Thanks to a dedicated group of participants, we keep refining our guiding vision to appeal to a more savvy generation of adult-entertainment consumers."
