Aorta Films Unveils First Look for Upcoming Feature ‘Haunted’

NEW YORK, N.Y.—Award-winning, queer/trans porn studio Aorta Films has launched an official website for its second feature, Haunted, giving audiences a first look at the movie with curated stills and other details.

Scene drops from Haunted are slated to begin in October, leading up to the full movie’s release in 2027.

Written by Carmen Maria Machado (In the Dream House, Her Body and Other Parties), the movie is the first in Aorta’s Induction Series, a program that invites “visionary thinkers” to collaborate on the creation of explicit work.

"Haunted follows filmmakers Sam, Jane and June on their latest project—the team can’t quite agree if they’re researching queer legacies of loss or looking for literal ghosts. A lustful, trickster spirit disrupts the already tense situation with a psychosexual haunting more visceral and terrifyingly ecstatic than anyone could imagine,” a plot synopsis reads.

“Designed to ignite larger conversations about pornography’s historic role as a cultural instigator, media of merit and art form of significance, the Induction Series wields explicit queer sex as an essential tool for telling queer and trans stories in an era of increasing repression,” a studio rep said. “Using the genre of erotic thriller as a container, the film explores how ‘ghosts of the queer community’s past’ (including the AIDS crisis) echo in present-day queer and trans sex. Haunted centers authentic queer identities and pleasure without sanitizing or fetishizing.”

“Queer porn goes beyond a niche of the mainstream adult industry, and is a fundamentally different genre,” said Mahx Capacity, Aorta’s creative director. “For queer people, porn is (and always was) liberatory political praxis—a place where the community’s joy, grief, struggle, celebration and history are synthesized into an embodied, cathartic practice.”

With Haunted receiving its first acceptances to film festivals worldwide, Aorta will release seven recut scenes from the Haunted narrative, presented as stand-alone erotic shorts, beginning in October. Monthly scene premieres will lead up to the 2027 debut of the full feature on the studio’s website.
