BROOKLYN, N.Y.—Adult studio AORTA Films expands its leadership team with the addition of three new members: Lina Bembe, Calba Rio and Kriss Lowrance.
“This marks a pivotal moment of growth for AORTA as we expand into a global team,” said creative director Mahx Capacity. “Lina, Calba and Kriss each bring a distinctive blend of experience within the indie porn community and dedication to community-driven, ethically produced work. Their involvement will amplify AORTA’s mission to create a future of ethical fuckery. As we enter our 10th year, I can’t imagine a stronger team leading us toward that future.”
Bembe (Four Chambers, Erika Lust, PinkLabel.TV) joins the team as marketing manager. A seasoned performer, director, educator and curator, Bembe brings AORTA more than a decade of experience across mainstream, feminist and queer adult cinema. Her work also includes writing, public speaking and teaching on topics such as sex education, sexual politics, feminism, intimacy coordination and ethical representation of non-White bodies in porn.
"I look forward to collaborating with this long-standing ‘by and for us’ initiative I’ve admired for many years," Bembe said. "This industry is incredibly difficult to navigate and survive—not only with authenticity but in ways that prioritize integrity and community."
Rio is a queer interdisciplinary artist, "smut scholar," rope sadist and co-founder of the now-archived collective House of Huitlacooch. Joining AORTA Films as operations manager, their work is featured on AORTA, CrashPad Series, ColorBlock Films and PinkLabel.TV.
Offered Rio, "It’s powerful to align with a team driving real change that expands and unifies the queer porn ecosystem. Cheers to a future of more filth, viscera and excess."
Lowrance, a veteran of indie porn web development since 2009, steps in to lead AORTA’s website development. A longtime advocate for trans rights, sex work decriminalization and ethical tech, Kriss is a leading force behind major platforms including CrashPadSeries.com and PinkLabel.TV.
"Since seeing their work at PornFilmFest Berlin in 2019, I've been in full-blown love with AORTA," said Lowrance. "It’s meaningful to help further their mission in an era where innovative queer porn feels more vital than ever."
Celebrating its 10th anniversary, “AORTA remains committed to pushing the boundaries of ethical porn and championing pleasure as a human right for all people,” a studio representative said.
