AIM Health Care’s Detox Bed Program fund will be the beneficiary a fundraising event scheduled for this Saturday night at the Knitting Factory in Hollywood. The entire adult industry is encouraged to come out and support the program which provides funds to help clean up those caught in the downward spiral of drugs and alcohol.
“We try to do everything that we can for those looking for a way out of their addiction and hopefully they can now receive the treatment they desperately need which will help them get on a better path to a clean and sober life," said AIM executive director Dr. Sharon Mitchell. "Saturday night’s benefit show will be a big help because it means that we can open our doors to help a few more patients in serious need of treatment.”
Although the fundraising is a serious subject, Saturday night is also about fun and good times as musician, porn performer and AIM supporter, Kurt Lockwood, will strap on his guitar for a live concert by his band Sex City Punks.
A $10 donation is required to get into this show with 100 percent of that money to go to the AIM fund. The concert also features a headlining performance by the national music act Nashville Pussy.
“Come down and help support this great cause, and be a part of some cool music live on stage," Lockwood said. "This should be a great night as the last benefit concert raised enough cash to help out a few people who were seriously in need of immediate assistance."
A number of adult industry companies have previously answered the call for help and put their money where their porn is as Sex Z Pictures, Red Light District, Zero Tolerance, Suze.net, Anabolic and Third Degree donated at the last event. Most plan on doing the same thing this coming Saturday night and other companies are expected to step forward with corporate donations.
Sex Z Pictures will be on hand to help out with funds at Saturday’s benefit.
“We were called upon to help out and we’re always ready to provide some funds to help see that the good work of Sharon Mitchell at AIM’s Detox Program continued," said Bo Kenney, owner of Sex Z Pictures.
Adult industry companies that would like to help out with a cash donation for this important program are encouraged to contact AIM or get in touch with [email protected] to donate funds. “Every penny goes to the program and there’s no time like the present to help out”, Lockwood said.
The Sex City Punks' performance Saturday night will be marked by scantily clad porn stars singing and gyrating on stage. Lockwood, who also just completed his directorial debut for Sex Z Pictures, wants everybody to know that music from the band, with backing from Triple X recording artist Sweet Justice, will be included on the forthcoming Decline of Western Civilization Part 69: The Porno Years’ porn DVD which will be released by Sex Z Pictures early in 2006.
