In a move to fine-tune staffing of their testing and health services, the Adult Industry Medical Health Care Foundation has decided not to see patients at their Woodland Hills office on Saturdays.
“Normally that facility sees 30 to 40 patients a day,” AIM founder Sharon Mitchell told AVN.com. But Saturdays, Mitchell said, are very slow, drawing as few as three people a day.
“It’s just a very unbalanced patient flow,” Mitchell said. That’s why she decided to move the Woodland Hills staff member over to the Sherman Oaks Clinic for the four-hour Saturday shift.
Mitchell said the move was not a sign of financial troubles, but more a part of doing smart business. “We have to tighten the belt buckle,” Mitchell offered. “We still have our Sherman Oaks office. One facility for the Valley on the weekend seems to be enough.”
AIM Heath Care Foundation’s two clinics provide HIV testing, counseling, and health care services to the porn industry and the general public. The Woodland Hills clinic is located at 19720 Ventura Blvd., Suite 101. Its new hours are Monday-Friday from 10 A.M. to 5:30 P.M. The Sherman Oaks Clinic, at 14241 Ventura Blvd., Suite 105, is also open Monday-Friday from 10 A.M. to 5:30 P.M, and will continue Saturday service from 1 P.M. to 5 P.M.
