Adult Talk Station PervertRadio.com Launched

Internet-based adult talk radio station PervertRadio.com launched May 29, and co-founders/co-hosts Paul and Mike emphasize that this pirate station "could be porn for your ears" but is not porn so much as it is "adult discussions with a lot of adult humor," as the pair phrases it.

"This is... not a music show or a show where all you hear is girls masturbating," said Mike. "Any idiot can get a girl to talk dirty on the air. We talk about serious things: politics, drugs, violence, domestic abuse, and yes, we talk about sex, sometimes very descriptively."

Paul said society is still "very uncomfortable" with sexuality. "We grow up with an image that sex is dirty, wrong, shameful, is not to be discussed openly," he said. "Ironically, we are submerged in sex. Sex sells – movies, toothpaste, telephones, cars, even soft drinks to our kids. Hell, they even use sex to sell us fat; when was the last time you saw a fat, unattractive person doing a McDonald's commercial?"

But their entrance page warning is emphatic: This Is Not a Porno Site. It Is a Site With Adult Humor. You Must Be a Legal Adult. That is followed by an advisory: "Pervert Radio is an Internet-based radio station with a supporting Website, www.pervertradio.com. Pervert Radio is an adult-themed experience using adult words, pictures, and sounds.

"If you are offended by our humor, deviant as you may find it, understand one thing loud and clear: it is our First Amendment right," the advisory continues. "If you find yourself lacking something better to do [than] intrude upon our constitutional rights, please consider the following: volunteer at a local charity; donate your money to fight a disease; spend time evaluating your own issues (hey, we all have them); surround yourself with people who are like you... whatever... just stay out of our mud puddle – it's not your job to clean us up."

Not that they plan to avoid the porn and obscenity topics as points of discussion. A future show is set to feature First Amendment Center research attorney David L. Hudson, Jr. on "Pornography and Obscenity."

The live Paul & Mike Show now airs free on the Website four nights a week with replays 24/7. Other offerings include a Tuesday night show, Fat Tuesdays, featuring Paul and Mike, plus co-hosts Lonnie Bruhn and Kristine Levin. "[Their] dark comedy fits the format of our show perfectly," said Mike. "It's great having four intelligent people in the same room talking over beer and pizza. It makes great adult radio."
