Adult Store Owner to Reapply For License Despite Denial

The owner of an adult store said he would reapply for a business license despite the fact his previous application was denied by Fulton County.

John Cornetta, the owner of the Love Shack chain of adult video and novelty stores, went to federal court Thursday, seeking a temporary restraining order against the County, for refusing to grant him his license. But a federal judge denied Cornetta’s request which would have let him to open his store in a 10,000-square-foot building he purchased.

The county claims the building does not have the correct zoning for an adult business store.

Cornetta said he expected the court’s denial and said it wasn’t a setback in his suit against the county. He now says adult products would now amount to 25 percent of his inventory in order to comply with the county ordinance.

Last month, about 900 residents of the new city of Johns Creek gathered at Chattahoochee High School to discuss what to do about the proposed adult store which Cornetta said would be the largest adult store in the U.S.

Mayor Designate Mike Bodker said at the time that he developing a new adult business ordinance would be a priority for the new council when it convenes for the first time in December.

In July, Fulton County residents voted to form the new city in a special election.
