Adult Store Must Remodel or Face Fines

An adult novelty store has until Sept. 9 to comply with new city regulations or face closure, Scottsdale officials said.

At issue are new regulations that call for the elimination of private viewing booths and other doors or walls that block sightlines throughout Zorba’s adult store, according to the East Valley Tribune.

The store must remodel much of its interior to comply with the regulations that go into effect on Sept. 9, such as eliminate ceiling high racks of merchandise as well as its arcade section where customers can watch porn videos in private.

But so far, the store has not submitted permits to begin work nor submitted plans for any renovation, the city says.

The store’s owner did not return telephone calls, the Tribune reported.

By law, violators would face fines of up to $20,000.
