Adult Source Media has released this week the fantasy-themed anime title, The Last Kunoichi.
“It’s a cool title because it has a little bit of everything in it and has terrific sex scenes with girl-on-girl, guy-on-girl, gang bangs. It’s terrific,” said John Amatucci, vice president of sales.
The title, produced in Japan, follows the story of three ninja sorceresses who follow the ninja code of honor and must face their vicious destiny or else escape to another world. But soon their passion ignites as try to deal with their fate.
“There are two distinct markets that we cater to, the anime fans and the adult fans and that makes it a great area for us,” Amatucci said.
“You go to Best Buys, and you see people paying full price for mainstream anime. And in adult, the competition is minimal so we’ve managed to become the fastest growing distributor of Japanese anime.”
The company has also become the first company to release an anime title in high definition video when it released Maid in Heaven, last month.
Due to its relationships with a number of Japanese anime production houses, the company hopes to continue its steady stream of anime releases in the U.S.
“This is a genre in the adult sector that has a lot of room for growth people and a lot of that is because mass merchants are only now starting to carry it.”
