The Honesty Company has opened its virtual doors to offer for sale adult-oriented and erotic greeting cards. Examples include cards depicting artistic representations of a woman with a ball gag in her mouth, a couple copulating in the missionary position, and a close-up of an erect male member.
“You can go to Hallmark or American Greetings, one of those corporate greeting card producers, for your personal sentiments, but it’s just off a press,” says co-founder Kimberly Alderman. “There are a million people running around giving the exact same card to their respective loved ones. But then again, Hallmark isn’t going to put an erection on the front of one of their cards, and do roses and bluebirds really get the message across when you want to tell someone you’re going to bang the hell out of them?”
Cards can be purchased on The Honesty Company website or in an increasing number of adult novelty boutiques. The cards are marketed as a perfect accompaniment to adult novelty gifts bought for such occasions as anniversaries, birthdays, or bachelor and bachelorette parties.
Most of The Honesty Company’s greeting cards are blank inside, allowing customers to express their own sentiments, even (or perhaps especially) the naughty ones.
