Adult DVD Empire is making its e-commerce engine available to webmasters via their new Virtual Store Program.
Beta-launched on April 1, the Virtual Store Program allows users to add a fully functional, cobranded storefront to their existing website offering their visitors all of the shopping options available to Adult DVD Empire customers.
Virtual Store webmasters earn 20 percent of everything that sells in their store and a 20 percent lifetime commission on all future orders placed by customers created in their store.
“We’re trying a different approach to the virtual store concept,” says Mike Barry, director of adult operations at Adult DVD Empire. “One of the things that makes us unique is that we have a strong brand name. So we set up our program so that the virtual stores and Adult DVD Empire are completely seamless. We spend all day every day trying to convert viewers into buyers so we put that experience to use in the stores. Our Virtual Stores look like Adult DVD Empire and offer all of the in-depth information and support.”
Customer accounts work in the Virtual Stores as well as the Empire so users are able to shop in either store, and the referring webmaster earns a commission regardless of where the order is completed.
This is a shift in Virtual Store philosophy. The current philosophy is to make a Virtual Store as transparent as possible so customers don’t know that they are buying from a third party. Adult DVD Empire is the first retailer to launch a virtual store program based on its brand name.
The New Adult DVD Empire Virtual Store program incorporates all of the features of Adult DVD Empire. Prospective webmasters can select a generalized, Adult Mega Store or one of the many genre-themed home pages.
“We made a group of genre-specific stores for webmasters that are serving specific content niches,” says JT Smith, director of marketing for Adult DVD Empire. “If you have traffic looking for all-girl content, you can use our all-girl store front, of if you have interracial traffic, you could use our interracial store—the idea being that giving webmasters the ability to select a store front that fits their niche will increase conversions”
