Adult DVD Empire, a leading online retailer, has aggressively enforced its intellectual property rights numerous times in the past against various infringers including retail sites, content sites, bitTorrent sites and others. Most recently, Deluxepass.com/Deluxearchive.com was sent a cease and desist notice that demanded an immediate end to its alleged illegal use of DVD reviews, watermarked box art images and porn star images believed to have been taken from the Adultdvdempire.com site.
Without admitting liability, Deluxepass complied with the demand, promptly removed the content from their network and paid the damages associated with its alleged use of Adult DVD Empire content.
“We go after anyone that steals our content, period,” said Mike Barry, director of adult operations for Adult DVD Empire. “We put a lot of time and money updating our site with the most current info, and we’re not going to sit by and let people rip it off.”
