Buyers looking for DVDs of the perennial bestseller Taboo will no longer reach Standard Digital but Addictive Entertainment when they call the number listed below.
Addictive has been formed to serve the distribution needs of Standard, plus Twisted Pink, the new production company owned by adult star Lola, as well as other independents.
“Standard Digital has just moved out of the building,” Addictive sales manager Jon Islas told AVN.com. “They still own Taboo, they have the rights to it, they are the production company. They just no longer handle the distribution. We handle the distribution.”
Standard owns the rights to all the movies of Hall of Fame filmmaker Kirdy Stevens. In two months Addictive will begin shipping the latest reissue in the long-running series, Taboo VI with Nina Hartley, Brittany Morgan and Joey Silvera, which features a classic sex scene between the latter two stars.
That will be followed by more Stevens titles, including The Animal in Me and Daisy Chain. Islas said people forget that the veteran director made quite a few more movies besides the Taboo series. “Other than [the first] Taboo, Playing with Fire is the hottest seller we have,” he said.
