Just days after Adult Entertainment Broadcasting Network announced they were launching a German version of their Website, Adam & Eve announced they were the first English-speaking adult entertainment company to offer their Website in Spanish.
It's the focus of Adam & Eve founder Phil Harvey, whom Adam & Eve said committed in January to be the first to create an all-Spanish Website letting Hispanic users visit an English-speaking adult entertainment company online in their native language. The site can also be reached by clicking the globe icon at the top of the standard Adameve.com home page.
"This is a unique opportunity to do something that no one else is doing," said Harvey in a statement. "We were the first on the Internet and now we're the first major American adult company to reach into this market. According to the 2000 census, over 55 million Americans speak Spanish at home. This is just a natural progression for us."
Adam & Eve chief technological officer Sean Trotter said bringing the site to the Spanish-speaking audience proved a technical challenge. "In undertaking this project, we had to make a special effort to understand who we were creating this site for," Trotter said. "It wasn't for our traditional audience and, because of that, we made an extra effort to get it right. I'm proud of the results and of our people who put it together. I think we'll see this as an important step for Adameve.com, and PHE, as we move into the future."
The Spanish-language site includes sending order confirmations and status updates in that language, with users having the chance to speak to Spanish-speaking customer service representatives should they need further assistance or problem solving.
