Lady Scarface, as incarnated by Carmen Luvana, got an assault-weapon sendoff at the V-Bar in the Venetian Hotel last night. Adam & Eve co- with young production company TightFit as Sex and the Sybian was unveiled.
Adam & Eve expects great things of the three-hour homage to the 1983 Al Pacino classic starring their contract exclusive Luvana in the role of Toni Montana. "Big numbers, big movement in the marketplace" is what A&E honcho Bob Christian predicts for the big-budget, violence-ridden sex thriller.
Hardcore clips from the movie played continuously on a video screen at the V-Bar, which was packed with adult industry celebs. Luvana was on hand early to greet them, a vision of gracious feminine allure, in stark contrast to the hardboiled drug queenpin she plays on screen. Director Daniel Dakota told AVN.com, "You can’t help having fun and getting turned on while watching it." He had special praise for Luvana, saying he became her biggest fan after watching her fire off an M-16 with grenade launcher, then spurt blood from a dozen squibs, right after shooting a heated sex scene, one of eight in the movie.
Tightfit owner Oren Coohen and VP of sales, Joanie Lee, wre both on hand for the festivities, along with the cast of their newest title.
Ava Rose, Adam & Eve’s other contract girl, was also much in evidence, talking to director James Avalon, who just shot her in a light-hearted mockumentary, All About Ava. She also appears in Lady Scarface.
Candida Royalle, founder of A&E-distributed Femme Productions, just off a plane from New York, was anticipating the release of her own movie, Under the Covers, to be launched with a party in Manhattan next month. Her producer, Jamie Waxman, was also on hand.
Nina Hartley, another A&E regular with her long-running sex-ed series, appeared with hubby Ernest Greene, who recently directed Luvana in Story of O.
Others on hand included Dustin "Screech" Diamond, luxuriating in his newfound XXX celebrity status, actors Evan Stone, Rod Fontana, Sascha, Mia Smiles and Chris Cannon, directors Roy Karch, Wes Emerson and Will Rider, porn-blogger Mike South, AVN president Paul Fishbein, publicists Jeff Mullen and Brian Gross and New York editrix Abby Ehman.
