Adam & Eve was the top winner with two trophies at the newly-established Feminist Porn Awards presented last Thursday in Toronto by Good for Her adult shop.
The company won for Hottest Anal Adventure with its House of Ass released, directed by Tristan Taormino, as well as winning for Fiercest Female Orgasm in Nina Hartley’s Guide to Double Penetration directed by Aria in the DVD’s bonus scene.
“Good porn is a human right,” said organizer Chanelle Gallant.
“Good for Her decided to establish these awards to recognize erotic filmmakers who are chreating hot, sexy woman-positive porn that makes women and couples feel good about themselves and about sex.”
An estimated 300 guests attended the awards program at a Toronto hotel, including Candida Royalle, who received the Lifetime Achievement in Women’s Erotica award, as well director-performer Taormino, Dana Dane, Abiola Abrams and others.
Good for Her founder, Carlyle Jansen presented Royalle with the award, named after pioneering feminist Emma Goldman.
“The night felt like the Independent Spirit Awards of the adult film world, where people creating independent, thoughtful or unconventional porn were acknowledged and celebrated,” Taormino said.
