Acid Rain is the name for Mitch Spinelli’s new company and its “extreme hardcore” product. Four titles, Bang My White Ass, Stack ‘Em Deep, Give Me Gape and My Ass Is Trippin,’ will start to ship in January. All are six scenes, 140 minutes each, of what he calls “filthy, nasty stuff.”
Extreme gonzo is something new for Spinelli whose previous releases were, in his words, "like Vivid without the story. Basic sex, nothing too hard," with titles like White Panties and Flirt. He claims he saw a new direction on a cross-country tour of big distributors. "They can't give away the big [manufacturer] names any more," he says. "The marquee companies are now Zero Tolerance, DVSX, Red Light District."

Spinelli says the attitude of company owners has usually been,"'Oh, we never watch these things.' I think you gotta watch these things. I was definitely guilty of that and I saw my numbers go down last year. Then I took a bunch of Red Light stuff home, and I saw the difference. I'm glad I did my homework. My stuff was antiquated."
For the son of the late Golden Age porn director Anthony Spinelli, with whom he formed his company, the switch represents quite a change from previous family business practice. "It's everything my dad taught me not to do as far as shooting. It's like one shot that goes continuous, two or three minutes, in, out, out of focus."
Then there's the content. "When my dad was doing stuff in the '80s—forget the '70s—anal [sex] was a big deal. He would not do an anal. I think none of his films had it, or our videos. Now they all have anal. It's crazy.
"'High end' today means how many dicks you can stick in somebody's ass, as opposed to location, story and how erotic the sex is."
