U.K. iOS Users Regain Pornhub Access With New AV Features

LOS ANGELES—Aylo, the parent company of Pornhub.com, announced today that United Kingdom-based users of iOS-powered devices can regain full access to the platform thanks to device-level age verification features delivered by Apple through recent rounds of updates to its mobile operating system.

Apple introduced one of the world's first-ever built-in device-legel age verification solutions for its U.K. users with the release of iOS update 26.4 in late March 2026. Over 50 percent of the mobile phone market in the United Kingdom is held by the tech giant, with millions of users identified as adults over the age of 18.

Considering this development, Aylo found it prudent to welcome "eligible age-confirmed U.K. iOS users back to Pornhub." Alex Kekesi, Aylo's vice president for brand and community, said in a statement that the development is a step toward a new status quo established under the country's sweeping Online Safety Act.

"Aylo is taking a measured step to restore access to Pornhub for eligible adult users in the U.K. who have confirmed their age through Apple’s U.K. age-verification process," Kekesi said. "Aylo was pleased to see Apple’s trailblazing announcement and subsequent deployment of the latest version of its operating system, which applies certain safety settings automatically to kids, teens and adults who have not confirmed their age.

"In our view, Apple’s U.K. device-level age-verification update offers one of the strongest and hardest to circumvent protections currently available for helping prevent minors from accessing age-inappropriate content," Kekesi added. "Like Aylo, this view is echoed by several child protection groups. Moving forward, age-verified iOS users reaching Pornhub will be served a standard adult user experience."

AVN previously reported that Aylo has lobbied technology companies, including Apple, to allow them access to age verification API signals for device age gating.

Aylo has voiced support for device-based age verification over site-level measures, which are standard in state and regional age-gating policies across the United States and the European Union. The leadership at Google, Apple and Microsoft, meawhile, has sent mixed messages about age verification at the device and operating system levels.
