Essence Protection Debuts Content Insurance for Adult Creators

INDIANA—Ashlin Hadden, founder of insurance provider Essence Protection, is rolling out tailored insurance coverage for adult content creators.

Hadden's latest offerings provide coverage for “media and cyber liability built for lawful adult creators,” an agency rep said. “Working directly with multiple policy providers, Essence Protection defends adult performers against the most common claims brought against creators, including copyright, name/likeness/voice, defamation, trademark, plus cyber breaches and extortion.”

After introducing the adult novelty sector to first-of-its-kind, specialty insurance coverage for adult retailers, manufacturers and distributors, Hadden was “bombarded with requests for similar offerings for online performers,” the rep explained.

“For years, I've heard the same thing from adult creators, retailers and pleasure brands: ‘Nobody will insure us,’” Hadden said. “Mainstream insurance companies are scared off by anything in the 18-plus category. It's too risky, too complicated and the average insurance policy becomes null-and-void once the provider learns what their client sells or does for a living.

“Today, we're proud to introduce an addition to our program,” she continued. “This is a new insurance program designed for the adult creator community. Within the Essence Protection brand, we've built a program with an understanding of your business, your challenges and the reality that you deserve access to real coverage, just like everyone else.”

Hadden's newest offerings are “specially crafted for those who perform in adult content on live cam streaming sites like Chaturbate and LiveJasmin, on subscription websites like OnlyFans and ManyVids, and anywhere else within the wide world of erotic photo and video.”

“When you’re a content creator, the exposure flows through your creator name. One copyright claim, one likeness dispute or one comment-turned-lawsuit attaches to the brand you built. This is real media and cyber liability for how creators actually operate,” Hadden explained. “It steps in to defend you and pay covered claims when someone comes after your content.”

Essence even covers content created for niche platforms, such as panty and clothing sale sites like PantyDeal.com, audio erotica and voice-based sites like Dipsea, and feet content platforms like FeetFinder.com.

“When your name is the brand, the claim follows you,” Hadden said. “Essence Protection covers the full breadth of possible claims that can be brought against adult performers, such as copyright, likeness, defamation, hacks and extortion.”

Essence Protection is a subsidiary of Hadden's parent company, Ashlin Hadden Insurance, an agency that covers clients in all 50 U.S. states. Essence Protection works with insurance providers to “create policies that aren't ridden with fine print that excludes adult businesses.”

“We believe every entrepreneur deserves an insurance partner who sees them, respects them, and is willing to advocate for them,” Hadden said. “If you've ever been declined, non-renewed or told your business didn't fit the box, let's talk.”
