JERSEY CITY, N.J.—ALVIN, a new adult streaming system designed specifically for television, has released a free Windows desktop demo that gives users an early look at the ALVIN interface and its “Type&Swipe” remote experience.
The desktop version is intended strictly as a preview and is not as robust as the dedicated ALVIN device scheduled to begin shipping in September, a company rep said. The full device will be priced at $249 USD MSRP and will include the ALVIN streaming device, HDMI cable, USB-C power cord and adapter, quick-start materials and access to the Type&Swipe remote app for both Android and iPhone.
The Type&Swipe remote app allows users to browse, type, scroll, select programming and control playback directly from their phones.
ALVIN is continuing to register participating studios and content providers. Studios appearing in the current desktop demo are included for testing and demonstration purposes only and do not necessarily reflect the final lineup available on shipped devices.
ALVIN is also “establishing a wholesale dealer program, offering generous retail markup opportunities for qualified sellers,” the rep added.
