HUNTINGTON BEACH, Calif.—Pleasure product manufacturer Sportsheets has appointed Donavon Dartez as its new general manager.
Dartez brings more than 25 years of executive leadership experience spanning consumer products, lifestyle brands, wholesale distribution, global sourcing and business operations. Throughout his career, he has held senior leadership positions with Fossil Group, Volcom, DC Shoes/Quiksilver, Etnies, Element Brand, and most recently QWW, Inc., where he served as vice president of operations and business development, as well as operating partner to the founder. His experience includes leading large sales organizations, developing multi-channel growth strategies, managing international sourcing and manufacturing operations, and building the systems and processes that support sustainable business growth.
As general manager, Dartez will oversee day-to-day business operations while partnering closely with Sportsheets CEO and owner Julie Stewart and the leadership team. His focus will include driving strategic growth initiatives, strengthening operational excellence, enhancing customer partnerships and helping position the company for its next phase of expansion.
"Donavon brings a rare combination of business acumen, operational leadership, sales expertise and entrepreneurial experience," said Julie Stewart, CEO and owner of Sportsheets. "For more than three decades, Sportsheets has built its reputation through innovation, strong customer relationships, and a willingness to create categories rather than simply follow them. As we continue to grow and evolve, I am excited to welcome Donavon to the team. His leadership will help us strengthen our foundation, pursue new opportunities, and continue delivering the innovation our customers have come to expect."
"Sportsheets has an incredible history in this industry, and Donavon's experience makes him a natural fit for where we are headed," said Kelly Sofferman, executive vice president of Sportsheets. "He brings a thoughtful and disciplined approach to leadership, a deep understanding of both customers and operations, and a proven ability to align teams around shared goals. I look forward to working alongside him as we continue growing the business and supporting our partners around the world."
"Sportsheets has earned a remarkable reputation for innovation, quality and customer loyalty," said Dartez. "What attracted me most was the company's history of creating products and categories that have shaped the industry. I am excited to work alongside Julie, Kelly, and the entire Sportsheets team to build on that legacy, strengthen our partnerships, and help guide the next chapter of growth."
Dartez will join the Sportsheets team at the upcoming ANME Founders Show in Burbank, where he looks forward to meeting customers, distributors, retailers and industry partners.
"I am eager to spend time listening, learning and understanding how we can best support our customers' success," Dartez added. "I look forward to meeting many of our partners at ANME and discussing opportunities for the future."
