Sliquid Founder Dean Elliot Dies Following Cancer Battle

CHATSWORTH, Calif.Dean Elliot, founder of the popular lubricant brand, Sliquid, died today following his battle against inoperable pancreatic cancer, which he shared via a Facebook post in August, 2023.

Elliot founded Sliquid in 2002, with the two lines—Sliquid H2O water based lube and Sliquid Silver, a silicone lube. The company has since expanded to dozens of varieties, including white labeled lubes and enhancements.

With his friendly, outgoing and outsized personality, Elliot could fill any room with his unbridled enthusiasm and well chiseled stature. A longtime bodybuilder, he was known for showing off his biceps as well as the many tattoos that adorned his body. Many in the industry have taken his trademark selfies with him, his arm extended into the air to include as many friends as possible in the picture, which he often shared via Facebook.

Longtime friend and collaborator with Sliquid for his line of trans-friendly products, Buck Angel shared his thoughts about Elliot’s passing. “Dean had many gifts, but the one that I appreciate the most was his way with people and lived life to the fullest because he loved everyone in his life so deeply. I always had that sense that he was looking out for me, but also for so many others. The depth of his caring for others was profound.”

Angel continued, “He also was such an entertainer and lived to bring joy to so many. When we walked into any room, he immediately became friends with every person in his path. The light that he brought to this world will always shine. I will miss you my Brother.”

Certified sexologist, Ashley Manta, reflected, “Dean wasn’t just a pioneer and visionary in our industry—he was a dear friend who made a profound impact on my life over the ten years I was lucky enough to know him. His brilliance in business was matched only by his warmth and charisma, which would light up any room he entered. Losing him feels devastating. I will think of him every time I use a bottle of Sliquid lube (which is often!) or wear one of the many stunning frames he picked out for me. His memory is a blessing.”

Elliot was not only well established in the sexual health and wellness field, but was also quite accomplished in many other industries. With his booming and mellifluous voice, he recorded many radio commercials for Volvo, WWE, Pepsi, HBO, Comcast and other brands. His website, www.VoiceMan.com features many reels for companies with which he worked.
