PORTLAND, Ore.—Tetruss, the portable 3-in-1 adult sex apparatus, is marking its 25th anniversary.

The original tetrahedral design was developed when inventor/founder Galen Fous pondered what a portable dungeon and sex swing design might look like. “I came up with the original Tetruss design in the late 1990s. I was already active and out in the kink scene. I would travel on business and meet-up with play partners at hotels I was staying at. I started to wonder about having a portable dungeon and sex swing (shibari wasn’t on the radar yet!) that I could easily set up in a hotel room, or at the beach, in the woods ... or anywhere. It had to be lightweight, easy to assemble and be freestanding. It had to be portable. It had to be safe,” Fous explained.
Twenty-five years later, he said thousands of Tetruss rigs have been sold worldwide.
Tetruss has been used by bondage industry professionals such as master rope suspension artist Lew Rubens, pro-Domme Irene Boss, and has been featured in shibari-style rope suspension demos by other notable rope artists (and Tetruss owners), including Dan from 2 Knotty Boys, guerilla street-style rigger Bluesrope, self-suspension artist Shay Tiziano and others.
