Dan Leal Provides Update on Syphilis Scare in Europe

LOS ANGELES—Porno Dan Leal, the veteran producer/director who is CEO of Immorral Productions and is now based in Budapest, on Monday shared an update about the syhilis situation in the Europe talent pool.

"This update is to hopefully clear up some of the rumors, false information and to get let everyone in the adult industry aware of the syphilis situation in Europe," Leal said.

"There are two confirmed positive syphilis cases in Europe and a very large number of first-generation exposure with models from the United Kingdom, France, Czech Republic, Hungary, Serbia, Russia, Romania and the Ukraine.

"The incubation period for syphilis is much longer than other STI (sexually transmitted infections) and can remain undetected for up to six weeks.

"Brill Babes (the largest adult agency in Europe) and the medical professionals in Hungary felt that as a combination of this long incubation period and a rampant number of exposures the best course of action is treatment first, testing second. They are advising anyone who came in contact with the confirmed positives or their first-generation partners to get antibiotics rather than waiting for test results to come back.

"In the best interest of public safety and health Brill Babes has further decided that no sexual contact should occur on camera on before October 20, 2017."

The Free Speech Coalition, which administers the Performer Availability Screening Services system in America (PASS), on Friday noted in a statement, "Syphilis is easily curable, but can be transmitted by both fluid exchange or skin-to-skin contact, including oral sex, or in the presence of a condom."

FSC recommended "out of an abundance of caution, we encourage any performers who have recently worked in Europe to get tested for syphilis, regardless of when your next fourteen-day PASS test is scheduled."
