LOS ANGELES—Pineapple Support, the adult industry mental health nonprofit, will host a free, online support group for those who have lost a loved one to suicide or who have survived a suicide attempt themselves.
The six-week support group, "Seeking Support," will be led by Pineapple Support therapist James Rossi and will begin on Monday, September 1, at 2:30 p.m. PT/5:30 p.m. ET/11:30 p.m. CET.
“Losing someone to suicide, or surviving the experience oneself, is one of the most profound and complex forms of grief a person can carry,” a Pineapple Support representative said. “This group will offer a safe, compassionate space to explore patterns of grief, healing and post-traumatic growth alongside fellow survivors and healers. Participants will be supported in processing their experiences, finding connection with others who truly understand and moving toward a sense of meaning and resilience.”
Pineapple Support was founded by British performer Leya Tanit in 2018, following a series of tragic losses in the adult industry due to depression and other mental health challenges. The organization, a qualified 501(c)(3) nonprofit in the United States, has connected more than 20,000 adult industry professionals with mental health services, including free and low-cost therapy, counseling and emotional support.
"Suicide loss touches so many in our community, often in silence," Tanit said. "Seeking Support exists to break that silence and offer a place where survivors can come together, be heard, and begin to heal. We are deeply proud to offer this group as part of our commitment to showing up for our community in its most difficult moments."
"Seeking Support" sessions will take place online and run weekly at the same time.
