SAN DIEGO—An OnlyFans performer by the name of Michaela Rylaarsdam, 32, agreed to a plea deal on Wednesday for a felony charge of involuntary manslaughter for her role in the death of an Escondido, Calif., man who was a participating subject in a fetish scene she broadcast to her fans on the platform in 2023.
Prosecutors alleged that she and the victim, Michael Dale, 55, recorded a fetish scene gone awry, which depicted him bound by the wrists in a chair with his head covered by a plastic bag with duct tape over his mouth for several minutes.
Rylaarsdam called 911 for help, but Dale died at a hospital the following day due to oxygen deprivation, notes local wire City News Service.
Sentencing is set for next month, and Rylaarsdam is expected to serve four years in state prison.
