Ofcom Fines Porn Company £1.35 Million for AV Noncompliance

LONDON—Ofcom, the United Kingdom's digital regulator, announced today it has fined the parent company of a network of porn sites a whopping £1.35 million ($1.8 million) for noncompliance with age verification requirements under the country's sweeping Online Safety Act.

The company 8579 LLC failed to comply with the country's age verification laws, Ofcom said. 8579 LLC owns a cloned tube site network, featuring sites such as crazyporn.xxx, hoes.tube and love4porn.com. Those websites failed to implement the age verification measures required under the Online Safety Act "[f]rom July 25, 2025 until at least 19 November 2025," according to Ofcom's announcement.

Ofcom said that another 8579 site, justpornflix.com, is still failing to implement age verification. 8579 is fined the initial £1.35 million penalty and must bring justpornflix.com into compliance as soon as possible. Failure to do so will result in a daily penalty starting today, February 23, of £1,000 ($1,349.10) until the legal duty is complied with or by June 3, 2026, whichever is sooner. 8579 was additionally fined £50,000 ($67,459.54) for failing to respond to a statutory request for information from Ofcom, and will incur an additional £250 ($337.30) fine per day until it provides the regulator with a complete list of all sites it operates.

“We’ve been clear that adult sites must deploy robust age checks to protect children in the U.K. from seeing porn," stated George Lusty, the director of enforcement at Ofcom. "Those that fail to do this—or ignore legally binding requests from us—should expect to face fines.”
