Ofcom Fines Parent Company of Motherless.com for AV Failures

LONDON—Kick Online Entertainment S.A., parent company of the controversial adult tube site Motherless.com, was fined by the United Kingdom's digital regulator, Ofcom, for failure to comply with the age verification requirements outlined by the country's sweeping Online Safety Act. The fine is over £800,000 (nearly $1.1 million).

According to a press release issued on Tuesday, Ofcom stated that Kick Online has not complied with age-verification requirements despite several attempts to contact the company. Motherless.com, according to AVN's previous reporting, was identified by Ofcom several times as noncompliant with the act.

Kick Online is also accused by Ofcom of ignoring information requests and is being fined a further £30,000 (about $40,876.20).

“Having highly effective age checks on adult sites to protect children from pornographic content is non-negotiable. Any company that fails to meet this duty—or engage with us—can expect to face robust enforcement action, including significant fines," said Suzanne Cater, Ofcom's director of enforcement.

“We continue to investigate other sites under the U.K.’s age check rules and will take further action where necessary," Cater added. Ofcom also indicated that while Kick Online has attempted to implement age checks, they are not of the "highly effective" classification required under the Online Safety Act.

Many of these fines are for noncompliance between July and December 2025.
