BISMARCK, N.D.—The North Dakota House of Representatives unanimously endorsed Senate Bill (SB) 2380 on Monday, advancing the age verification bill one step closer to becoming law. SB 2380 requires age verification for all adult websites operating in North Dakota's digital space.
Republican Gov. Kelly Armstrong is expected to sign the bill into law. The Free Speech Coalition previously supported SB 2380 due to a provision for device-based verification versus site-level solutions like government identification submissions and consumer data.
However, the adult industry trade group withdrew its support when the provision was dropped.
SB 2380 was returned to the Senate for the two chambers to reconcile differences.
