Aylo Launches Panel Series on Sex Worker Issues

MONTREAL—Pornhub parent company Aylo is launching a new series of informative panels in collaboration with key community organizations exploring issues impacting sex workers.

For the inaugural edition, tackling the difference between sex work and sex trafficking, Aylo teamed up with Old Pros, a nonprofit media organization that uses storytelling to advocate for sex worker rights. The virtual panel is set to take place from 6 to 7 p.m. ET this Thursday, May 29.

Those interested in attending the panel may register for free via Eventbrite

Pornhub’s VP of brand and community, Alex Kekesi, and Old Pros’ founder and executive director, Kaytlin Bailey, will lead a panel of experts to discuss how sex work and sex trafficking became conflated in public discourse, and the impact of anti-trafficking laws on sex workers and trafficking survivors.

The panel will include:

• Kim Kelley, CEO and founder of Digital Defenders United, a survivor-led nonprofit protecting children’s innocence online through advocacy and education.
• Crystal DeBoise, director of strategic partnerships at Decriminalize Sex Work, a national organization working to end the prohibition of consensual adult prostitution and reform sex work policies.
• Blair Hopkins, deputy director of SWOP Behind Bars, a social justice group advocating for sex workers, trafficking survivors and those affected by incarceration.

This session will explore the myths linking sex work and trafficking, examine the unintended harm caused by current legislation, and consider paths toward more informed, compassionate policies.

“The launch of this panel series is part of Aylo’s ongoing commitment to supporting sex workers,” Kekesi explained. “We’re proud to bring together such a diverse group of leaders for conversations that deepen understanding and inspire progress. We invite everyone to join and engage in these important discussions.”
