Director Wash West's 1999 classic Animus starring Blake Harper and Thomas Lloyd is being released for the first time on DVD on Tuesday, August 22.
Originally produced by All Worlds Video, Animus is the first new-to-DVD title from the All Worlds vaults to be released by new owner Channel 1 Releasing. Channel 1 acquired All Worlds and its catalog last April.
The story, written by West, of a cat burglar (who also seduces his victims with ease) brought to ground by a determined police detective received an impressive 12 GAYVN Awards nominations. In highly competitive races, Animus walked off with three trophies: Best Actor (Harper), Best Supporting Actor (Lloyd), and Best Threesome (Tanner Hayes, Zach Richards, Jack Simmons).
"Animus is one of Wash West's most inventive and entertaining movies," said GAYVN editor Doug Lawrence. "It's good to see it finally available on DVD."
The movie is being released on the All Worlds Platinum label, the first in Channel 1's "classic releases" project.
