January 2006 marks the ending of one venerable Lucas Entertainment series and the beginning of what promises to be another. The Fire Island Cruising series, which introduced such stars as Chad Hunt and Wilson Vasquez — and brought Michael Lucas back to the screen — signs off with Fire Island Cruising 8. But it doesn't go out with a whimper. This final edition features the onscreen bottoming debut of supertop Andy Hunter.
And yes, it is the final. "It's the very last FIC — and believe me, baby, we aren't pulling any Star Trek nonsense here," stated Lucas publicist Heather Reznor. "But, of course, we refuse to leave you hanging — which is why we started a whole new line based in the New York City area, Encounters."
And this new series comes in with a bang: Fabulous dragstress, gay spokesmodel, and Michael Lucas pal RuPaul goes XXX by directing an Encounters 1 scene with Vasquez and Bruce Beckham.
"We are not working with a script," Encounters producer Lucas said of the series whose tag line is In New York With a Population of 10 Million, Sex Happens. "And I have always said if you explain the basic theme to the models, they will be able to come up with convincing dialogue and performances. It was RuPaul's idea to set the scene in a psychiatrist's office, and he explained what he wanted to the boys and the result is a very believable, very hot scene."
Lucas Entertainment videographer/editor Tony DiMarco directed the other three scenes and will likely direct much of the new series. Lucas expects there will be six Encounters releases per year. The other performers in the debut production are Omer, Kent Larson, Blu Kennedy, Erik Grant, and Parker Williams.
